We’re delighted to announce that Senna: The Truth by Franco Nugnes has been named 2026 RAC Motoring Book of the Year, the Royal Automobile Club’s highest honour for motoring and motorsport literature.

Shortlisted for the British Sports Book Awards and now crowned RAC Motoring Book of the Year, Senna: The Truth reconstructs the events surrounding the tragic death of three-time Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna at Imola, in 1994.

Drawing on interviews with key figures from Formula One – including former drivers, senior Ferrari and McLaren personnel and those who helped shape Senna’s career – Nugnes searches for answers while celebrating the extraordinary legacy of one of motorsport’s great icons.

The award was announced at a ceremony at the RAC’s historic Pall Mall clubhouse in London, attended by leading authors, publishers and figures from across the motoring and motorsport industries.

Everyone at Pitch would like to congratulate Franco on this outstanding achievement.
