Champions! launch with Mike Walters and Peter Drury

Pitch Publishing is delighted to announce a special event celebrating the release of Champions: The Golden Age of Darts from Priestley to Littler, the new book from veteran Daily Mirror sports writer Mike Walters.

Taking place at The Coach House in Tring on Thursday 26 November 2026, the evening will see Mike joined on stage by the legendary Peter Drury, whose distinctive voice and evocative commentary have made him one of the most respected broadcasters in world sport.

Champions tells the story of darts’ remarkable transformation from a niche pastime into a global sporting phenomenon. Through exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes insights, Mike charts the journeys of all 13 PDC world champions, from Dennis Priestley’s breakthrough triumph in the 1990s to Luke Littler’s role in inspiring a new generation of fans.

During what promises to be a fascinating and entertaining discussion, Mike and Peter will reflect on the personalities, rivalries and defining moments that helped shape darts’ modern golden age. Fans can expect plenty of stories from behind the scenes, sharp observations from two of sport’s finest storytellers and unique perspectives on one of the biggest success stories in modern sport.

Whether you have followed darts for decades or simply enjoy great sports writing and commentary, this promises to be a memorable evening celebrating champions, characters and unforgettable sporting drama.

The event begins at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets are priced at £12.50 for admission only, or £29 including a signed copy of Champions: The Golden Age of Darts from Priestley to Littler.
